Rainer Maurer
Chairman & CEO
Rainer Maurer has served as Chairman and CEO of Cygna Labs since its acquisition in December 2018. Maurer has also been serving as the CEO of N3K Network Systems since he founded it in 2000. Previously, Maurer co-founded Centaur, which was acquired by Integralis in 1998 and held senior positions in both companies.
Rainer has a talent for identifying and developing the commercial opportunities created by the technical developments in IP networking. He brings a considerable depth of technical skill blended with the experience of successful start-ups, company sales, and an MBO. Rainer is also a successful author of a number of technical publications. He holds a degree in medical computer science from the University of Heidelberg.
Arno W. Therburg
VP of Sales
As Vice President of Sales, Arno Therburg is responsible for Cygna Labs’ global sales and partner initiatives. He brings a strong history of building dynamic sales organizations. Prior to joining Cygna Labs, Therburg built the enterprise sales business at Netwrix and before that served as VP of Sales for the Blackbird Group until its acquisition by BeyondTrust. He also acted as a technical consultant and has authored multiple books on enterprise messaging systems. He studied Economics at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg, Germany.
David Ruginski
VP of Development
As Vice President of Development, David Ruginski is responsible for software development and quality assurance at Cygna Labs. As an accomplished software engineer, Ruginski has worked in several other development and management roles throughout the years. Most recently, he was the development manager for BeyondTrust, which he joined as part of the Blackbird Group acquisition. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree with a specialization in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Dalhousie University, Canada.
