MIAMI, Fla., January 6, 2025 — Cygna Labs, a highly specialized software developer and a leading provider of DDI, cloud security, and compliance technology solutions, announced today its newest release of Cygna DDI Guard software, version 4.1, with several new security, reporting, and diagnostics features for Cygna DDI customers.
Cygna DDI Guard is a DHCP/DNS packet capture repository and reporting tool that collects DHCP and DNS activity, which is stored in one or more archive servers. Activity is viewable through a variety of user-definable dashboards and reports. Real-time activity can be viewed for threat tracking, troubleshooting, or to verify proper device provisioning or moves. DHCP and DNS transaction details can be fed into third party SIEM systems to integrate DDI data with broader network forensics, with filtering of this data to minimize data irrelevancy and to reduce SIEM ingest rates and associated costs.
Key new features include signature-based and in-line entropy analysis for DNS tunneling detection and shutdown, adaptive inbound rate limiting for automated denial of service mitigation, as well as behavioral AI-based domain generation algorithms (DGA) detection and reporting. DHCPv6 support including rogue device detection is also included with DDI Guard version 4.1.
New malware tactics seem to arise every day, and the DNS security features in DDI Guard help customers to identify and mitigate cyberthreats that leverage DNS. And DDI Guard allows administrators to forward relevant data to SIEM systems for network-wide correlation while controlling our SIEM ingest costs.
Christian Ehrenthal, president and CEO, Cygna Labs Corp., said: “Cygna DDI Guard is a core component of our comprehensive DDI portfolio, and this release extends DDI visibility and forensics into DHCP and DNS security defenses and automated mitigations.”
Michael Dooley, SVP DDI, Cygna Labs Corp., said: “DHCP is used to bootstrap IP devices and DNS is the first step in IP communications, so visibility to your DDI transactions is critical to providing a complete perspective on network activities. From DDI trends, reports and alerts down to packet header drilldown, DDI Guard offers a key ingredient to your cybersecurity strategy.”
