PCI Compliance Practices Summary

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) was developed to define consistent data security standards for all entities that store, process or transmit cardholder and sensitive authentication data. Sensitive authentication data refers to data associated with cardholder data such as a PIN, the “data security code” on each card, and magnetic stripe data.

While the PCI DSS applies to systems designed for storage and/or transmission of cardholder data or sensitive authentication data, many organizations apply this set of standards beyond these systems to include supporting management systems. This broader applicability seeks to mitigate vulnerabilities to systems that could provide secondary access to sensitive cardholder data.

Cygna Labs Diamond IP solutions provide advanced IP address management (IPAM) and DHCP-DNS-IPAM (DDI) solutions for service providers and enterprises, including those within or affiliated with the payment card industry. This white paper highlights core PCI requirements as of version 3.1, and summarizes how Cygna Labs IPAM solutions comply.
