IP Address Autoconfiguration
October 19, 2022 01:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
The IPv6 specifications define a means for a device to automatically detect its connected IP network and to autonomously generate its own IP address. While this process simplifies the device initialization process, not to mention obviating the need for a DDI administrator to configure a DHCP pool, it could provoke the ire of network security professionals. In addition, the use of a static device identifier during the autoconfiguration process has raised concerns over device privacy. Attend this webinar to learn the latest methods for the autoconfiguration process which address privacy issues and how a DDI system can help relieve network security concerns as well.
