Modular DDI application support
The Cygna Sapphire OS supports a variety of Cygna DDI applications beyond standard DHCP/DNS applications. The included Cygna DHCP server is the industry’s highest performing with lease rates topping 30,000 leases per second. Centralized IPAM appliances ship with Cygna IPControl software pre-installed. Cygna Sapphire appliances are also available for IT automation (Cygna Automation Appliance), IPAM resiliency (Executive Monitor Appliance), DDI auditing (IPAM Auditor Appliance), and DNSSEC.
One secure OS, multiple platforms
All Cygna Sapphire appliance models leverage the common secure OS and kernel, simplifying administration and support. Various hardware appliance models are available, as are several private cloud orchestration systems including VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V, QEMU/KVM, Xen, and Docker. Cygna Sapphire appliances are also available for public cloud environments including AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.
Security from the ground up
Cygna Sapphire appliances are built from the ground up for DDI and only DDI. Our proprietary Sapphire operating system (OS) is not based on a commercial Linux distribution with associated fees and vulnerabilities. The Sapphire OS and kernel are hardened starting from the basic build process and includes strict security measures for the Linux kernel, file system, processes, and network interfaces.
DDI out of the box
Cygna Sapphire appliances are pre-configured based on the application desired, whether IPAM, DHCP/DNS, automation, etc. There’s no need to create an ISO and manually install. Our cloud-init feature enables you to create an appliance template. To instantiate a virtual appliance, simply apply the cloud-init template and you are up and running in one click.
Powerful REST API
Not only does Cygna IPControl, our powerful DDI application, support a REST API with a self-documenting Swagger interface, but our Cygna Sapphire appliances do as well. The Cygna Sapphire REST API enables fetching and setting of appliance configuration parameters and key statistics, facilitating incorporation of our DDI appliances into automation flows.
